Michael Prewitt
Something He Can Handle (available on Common Loon Records) is a masterful album that boasts seven Michael Prewitt originals and three additional tunes that feel like Prewitt wrote them. Traditional themes of leaving home, love won and lost, and loneliness are presented in a fresh way with beautiful songs that capture these human emotions. Humor is never too far from Prewitt either, as evident by his reflections on the pitfalls of the social ramble in “Put the Bottle Down” and his cut of the Memphis Minnie tune “What’s the Matter with the Mill”.  Six tracks were recorded with a full band, while four others were recorded with Prewitt and his guitar and/or mandolin.  Prewitt’s strong baritone vocals and Aaron Bibelhauser’s harmony vocals shine throughout the album. Backing up Prewitt are Dan Eubanks (bass), Brady Wallen (banjo), Jeff Guernsey (fiddle), and Aaron Bibelhauser (harmony vocals/guitar/dobro).
